Under the new WHS Harmonisation Laws, all employers have a duty to consult with their employees. This obligation may be met by properly training supervisors or by establishing an WHS Committee or an WHS representative. Supervisors, safety committees and safety representatives must be trained in order to understand their role and to carry out their responsibilities effectively. This course aims to familiarise participants with the knowledge and skills necessary to apply the principles of workplace WHS consultation as an integral part of effective WHS Management System (WHSMS). The course should also assist in the development of appropriate attitudes to enable WHS Committee members and WHS Representatives to effectively carry out their functions under WHS Legislation.
